Hawkeye HeadlinesMeet the new boss...same as the old boss. Kirk Ferentz held a press conference today to introduce a new Defensive Coordinator, and he looks a lot like former DB coach Phil Parker. A couple other assistants got shuffled around, leaving LB and OL position coaches open, along with the OC job vacated by Ken O'Keefe. Plus, Kirk talks about Marcus Coker's departure, and Brian Ferentz talks about his team's Super Bowl loss.

Men's Basketball hits the road to take on Northwestern, and the optimistic folks are asking what it will take for this team to make the big Dance. Aaron White earns his 3rd Big Ten Freshman of the Week award, Lisa Bluder holds a press conference prior to her team's contest with Minnesota, Wrestling prepares for this weekend's National Duals, plus headlines from Men's and Women's Golf, Women's Tennis, Men's and Women's Gymnastics, Track and Field, and Softball. On, Iowa!!

Hawkeye HeadlinesA very busy week in Hawkeye sports, while H.O took a short break from headlines. Men's Basketball celebrated the 25th anniversary of the 1986-87 team with a 2nd straight Big Ten win. The Hawks whipped Penn State at home yesterday, after a comeback win over Minnesota Wednesday night in Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Check out photos, video, and interviews with former players and coaches, as well as Fran McCaffery's press conference after the PSU win.

Football had a huge news week as Wednesday's signing day inked 24 new players to the Hawkeye ranks, plus a couple JuCo transfers and walk-ons. Then Saturday, many Hawk fans got their wish as Ken O'Keefe resigned as Offensive Coordinator. He's taking his skills to the Miami Dolphins of the NFL, leaving two coordinator positions open on the Iowa Football coaching staff. Tyler Sash will be playing in the Super Bowl today in his rookie season, Brian Ferentz will be coaching in it, and check out what other former Hawks in the NFL are up to.

Lisa Bluder can't enjoy the OT win at Wisconsin. She deals with the loss of yet another key player to an ACL injury, as the Lady Hawkeyes prepare to take on Indiana today. Iowa Wrestlers host their final home dual of the season today against the Badgers, plus headlines from Men's Golf, Track and Field, Men's and Women's Tennis, Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving, and Women's Gymnastics. Go Hawks!!

Hawkeye HeadlinesFran McCaffery's Men's Basketball team shot 79% in the second half at Indiana Sunday. And STILL lost. When your defense gives up triple-digits, it doesn't matter how hot you're shooting. That's 5 losses in the past 6 games, but the remaining 9 games are against (mostly) teams below Iowa in the standings. In Football news, Marcus Coker enrolls at Stony Brook, and a few big last-minute surprises turn up in Iowa's 2012 recruiting class.

Men's Wrestling gets back on track with an upset win over #3 Minnesota, Women's Basketball upsets #13 Purdue in Carver-Hawkeye Arena, headlines from Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving, Track and Field, Men's Tennis, and a look back at Iowa's 1986-87 #1 ranked Men's Basketball team. Go Hawks!!

The Iowa Women lost to the 19th ranked lady Huskers in Lincoln as well. The Hawkeye men head to Indiana on Sunday -- check out the post-game press conference and interviews with players after the loss, while the Women stay home to host #13 Purdue.

Hawkeye HeadlinesIowa is the last Big Ten team to NOT have a full slate of football coordinators, and the player retention problem continues with the departure of A.J. Derby. A couple JuCo recruits join the team at the start of the spring semester, DJK is hired by the Iowa Barnstormers, and Hayden Fry wins the Bear Bryant Award. Men's Basketball had a huge win over #13 Michigan last Saturday, then a tough road loss at Purdue on Tuesday night, but will have over a week to work before the next game.

Women's Hoops get a win over the Badgers, Wrestling has a couple ranked opponents this weekend, plus news from Men's and Women's Gymnastics, Women's Golf, Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving, Track and Field, and Women's Tennis. On Iowa!!

Hawkeye HeadlinesFriday the 13th is not particularly unlucky for the Hawkeyes, as Iowa's Fran McCaffery holds a press conference to talk about tomorrow's game vs. #13 Michigan, and doesn't regret manhandling a folding chair at Michigan State, even though it was caught on camera. In Football news, another commit for the Hawks, and former RB Jewel Hampton is going pro. All that plus headlines from Women's Hoops, Wrestling, Men's and Women's Golf, and Softball. Go Hawks!!
